International Hockey School by Diego Scandella

Welcome to the new website of Diego Scandella, the well-known italo-canadian coach who from the 1988 organizes hockey schools for boys of every age in Italy, Switzerland and North America.

In 1988 the coach native of Montreal reached the Hockey Club Bergamo, where he played a couple of seasons as forward before starting his career as a coach. After the experience in Bergamo he joined Devils Milano, where he coached team which collected many victories in Italy and participated at the most famous tournaments in Europe.

After the team ceased his operations, he went to Brixen and the season after to Bruneck where in seven years of hard work has contributed in the development of local players leading them to Italian under 20 championships and later helping them to be part of italian national team.

In the season 2000/2001 he was called by Jim Koleff, head coach and GM of HC Lugano, one of the greatest teams in Swiss league. Scandella took care of Junior Elite team together with role of Assistant coach of the first team.

In first 3 years, one third placement, one second and one title winning, before switching to to first team full time where in the 2005/2006 season winning the title again in Switzerland.

Still 2 more years in Lugano, and a Spengler cup winning with Team Canada, before switching to the Hockey Club Ambri Piotta where serving as assitant coach to ex San Jose Sharks and Pittsburgh Penguins, Kevin Constantine.

Despite his many commitments with the club, Diego Scandella, every year manages to find time to help young athlethes through his summer camps and consulting services. Assisted by selected coaches, sessions on the ice are directly managed by the Italo-Canadian coach which offers to the participants the same energy he gave to those young local talents, that, thanks to him too, became international players.
